Sofia Vieira
Originally from the Douro region of Portugal, Sofia Vieira was destined to excel in all gastronomic matters. Raised in traditional food and wine country and influenced by her grandmother’s artistry in the kitchen, it was no surprise when Sofia quit her Business and Accounting degree to pursue her true calling: food.
At the renowned Douro-Lamego Hotel and Tourism School, Sofia learned to be disciplined and methodical when cooking, as well as to be a true team player. This later helped her to develop her natural leadership skills as she rose through the ranks of professional kitchens, in Portugal and later in London, where she moved to in 2015 to join the private Royal Automobile Club in the Great Gallery restaurant.
Having always worked in fine-dining restaurants, including with Michelin-starred Chef Vítor Matos, from restaurant Casa da Calçada*, Sofia stays true to her roots. Nothing makes her happier than the satisfaction of those who savour her creations, where you will find traces of traditional Portuguese cuisine, hearty and full of soul. Equally passionate about wine, Sofia also studied at The Wine & Spirit Education Trust, to augment the joy of her clients with the perfect harmony of wines selected to accompany her dishes.
